About the Author
G. Avery Lee, born in 1916, is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University and Yale Divinity School. He is the author of sixteen books, including I Want That Mountain! and Living in the Meantime. As a pastor, he made his greatest mark at St. Charles Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans from 1961 to 1980. He resides in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Gardner C. Taylor was born in 1918. A graduate of Leland College and Oberlin graduate School of Theology, he has been dubbed by Time magazine as the nation s Dean of African American Preaching. He served for over forty years as pastor at Concord Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Dr. Taylor is the author of several books, including the six-volume series The Words of Gardner Taylor, published by Judson Press. He resides with his wife, Phillis, in Raleigh, North Carolina
